Very useful with the right piece of equipment. At the power plant. We had a Cat Telelever forklift. It had 5ft tall tires, and boom that went up and down. Plus extend out 40ft. To get into tight places. You would crab walk it into place. You could steer each axle by it's self if you wanted to. If you wanted to be a bitch. After you got done using it. You never recentered the rear axle. So the next guy would jump in and take off going sideways.
