Sorry, the hose clamp pliers are Mayhew ... not Mayhem LOL. You can order them through Amazon.
My OEM plastic connector measures 3" in length. I'm not certain of the length of the Z1 connector since it's now installed ... but it fit without need to trim the heater hoses.
Apart from the OEM clamps being a bit difficult to loosen and slide over the ridges of the plastic connector, it will also require some patience to remove the connector from the hoses. I used a pick and a small slotted screwdriver to help lever the connector out of each side ... with care taken not to damage the hoses. It was a tedious process.
I also elected to drain the coolant beforehand and then re-filled the system with new coolant after the Z1 connector was installed. I bled the system through both the bleeder port located on the driver side of the radiator as well as the bleeder screw on the Z1 connector while re-filling.
