The shop I took it to is Full Throttle Performance in Rancho Cordova. Looks like they are specialist in Nissan and Infiniti. He is the same guy that installed my Z1 anti starve kit.

I think Wavetrac is 1.1 way. I dont know exactly. Maybe someone can chime in with the info. I would guess its similar to Quaife. As for break in, there shouldnt be any. But im taking it easy for the first 300 miles.

Wavetrac is a mechanical gear type, not a clutch. This type of diff is also called a Torsen (Torque sensing) with Quaife being one of the bigger makers.

in general a torsen will send power from inside to the outside in a corner through the gear mechanism, but it relies on both sides having grip. If one tire does not have griff it will not lock at all and is an open diff

Wavetrac has an added design that counters this (Google, there are diagrams) so that even when one wheel slips, there is still some lock and power will be transmitted to the wheels.

It does not lock as hard as a clutch type, but requires much less maintenance and doesn’t need a diff cooler. This makes it above open diffs, OEM VLSD, or a quaife, but below a clutch type in raw power. It will also be quiet
