Was recommended to use a arp stretch gauge to tighten the rod bearing bolts. I had no prior experience with that tool. It was pretty tough to use it because of limited space. The #5 rod bearing failed most likely because I over tightened and it was too tight of a clearance. At least that’s what I think happened after tear down. Basically metal shavings ruined everything else. I was pretty bummed out.
Nine lives racing they sell a dual element that you can add to your existing wing. It does work very well. Built my own splitter with nine lives racing splitter ramps.
When it comes to cooling I have pretty much under control.
Csf triple radiator. No more ac so scrapped the condenser. Definitely improved air flow especially with intercooler in the front.
Trackspec hood vents.
30/70 coolant ratio with water wetter. Z1 low temp coolant regulator does help alot. Ran mishimto prior but it was running engine too cool unless it was high 90s F ambient.
Still running gtm 25 row oil cooler with auxiliary fan and without thermostatic plate. It’s in the fender area. Made ducting and louvered fender liner. Don’t mind the Home Depot hoses. Needed to get it done for that weekend.
Biggest gains were from opening up the front bumper area, making a ducting towards the intercooler/radiator area. Also adding a splitter helps direct a lot more air into the bumper opening. I was surprised how much of a difference it made. I can do most of the 20min session without worrying about temps. Last track day I did sunny with 80F, the oil and coolant didn’t get pass 215F. Before after 2 hot laps I had to completely back off and let it come down on temps. It was very annoying.
