I'd have to buy the identical TCM part number, unsure whether or not it would still have to be flashed to marry my ECU.

I am surprised they were willing to update a VQ TCM in a VR transmission. My dealer said it’s all modified now, and didn’t act like they wanted to update my TCU which is still on the original 2010 flash program. Guess I could call another dealer.
The update was done prior to the VR install; however, how would they know I have a VR trans. anyway if I don't tell them? I HIGHLY doubt they're going to poke around under the car to determine whether or not the trans. is OE when they are getting paid to perform and update or marriage to ECU. None of the electronics change in the swap just "dumb" hard parts so in that regard it's not modified.

Don't tell any dealer you swapped trans.' and just have them update.
