Saying that, if they are overloading the filters with oil at the start then maybe he's not in the loop with what happens after a few 1000 miles when the oil starts to get pulled through the intakes.
So it makes me wonder whether you should clean all the excess oil off of brand new K&Ns right at the start? In fact, I think someone earlier in this thread said the same thing?

I currently run them at two cars at home, and none seemed to come with too much oil from the factory.
