I am just about to get an Uprev tune from an experienced tuner and his thoughts were that I wouldn't see much benefit from a major intake upgrade (eg Stillen Gen II) and to just replace stock paper filters with the K&Ns since in his experience they have been a really good product with good results that are cost-effective.

Saying that, if they are overloading the filters with oil at the start then maybe he's not in the loop with what happens after a few 1000 miles when the oil starts to get pulled through the intakes.

So it makes me wonder whether you should clean all the excess oil off of brand new K&Ns right at the start? In fact, I think someone earlier in this thread said the same thing?
