Default Z1 Tow Strap with Custom CF Plate Mount

Hi Z Drivers:

I wanted to post a couple of images of the Z1 Tow Strap along with the CF plate mount I created.

Note I have the aftermarket front bumper cover by Fly1 Motorsports. It is the Fuji Front Bumper from them in Partial Carbon.

Here's the Strap mounted to the FI Tow Bar.

Here is the Custom made CF Plate mount fabricated by myself.

The parts list is relatively small, all sources from Home Depot
1. 1/4 in. x 36 in. Aluminum Round Rod $5.47
2. 2x 3/8 in. Rubber Insulated Clamp (2-Pack) $2.18 ea ($4.36)
3. 2x 9/32 in. Black Neoprene Grommet $2.75 ea ($5.50)
4. Sheet of carbon fiber large enough to make a license plate mount out of. Mine originally was 400mm x 500mm x 2m. I had it left over from a previous project. Cost $40 - $80, It depends on your choice.
5. 4x Z-Spec trim washers (Black), 4x M6 cap screws by Z-Spec, 4x M6 Lock nuts. Sourced all from Z-Spec, Can't remember the cost, but in-expensive and also left over from another project

Tools used:
1. 4 inch Cordless Rotary cutter with fiber cutoff wheel and sanding flapper disk
2. Cordless Drill with step drill bit and smaller drill bit. Used step bit to drill bottom of bumper cover to place the rubber grommets.
3. Painters tape to make the cuts and drill spots.
4. Cardboard for sizing and prototyping the plate mount. Time saver and great planning tool.

To me this is very worth it. I wanted to have the Tow Strap in place full time and also have a nice CF Plate mount. Once in place it doesn't move much and will not come out. I wanted to be able to remove this once I get to the Track for a Track day. Mission accomplished.

Let me know if you have questions, or want images of the back of the CF plate with aluminum bar attached. Honestly I haven't seen this done much so I thought I would post this. I live in Texas so I have to have a front plate. Note the rubber grommets become invisible once the plate is removed and stowed while on track.

Enjoy.
