Resurrecting this old thread. Thinking of pursuing this upgrade. Have everything on hand, including a switch from a Sentra, complete with a connector with the four pigtails attached. Wiring looks pretty straightforward. My only issue is accessing the so-called gray wire in the BCM in the passenger footwell that needs to be tapped into. The space is not only tight, but freeing up the gray wire to allow splicing with the wire that will run from the switch is hindered in part by the solid block of styrofoam that sits under the carpet at the front of the footwell. For those who have completed the work, how did you tap into the gray wire? I suspect you could use a standard wire tap, but I would prefer to solder the wires. Removing the styrofoam block to allow better access would work if it wasn't glued to the carpet. Anyway looking for advice from those in the know. Thanks in advance.
