You also mentioned "corporation".
Look at what's happening in the world, and what has happened. Wars and sanctions happen simply because of disagreements, regardless of the basis of the disagreements. Look at the wars the US have been involved in. Justified or not, they are taking action because of whatever reason.
It's "not super common" because a lot of sh!t is covered up and not made known to the public.
