Yes of course, I usually let her warm up about 5 minutes. Then on my cruise, I make sure oil temps are at 180 before I beat the crap out of her.

6K Miles? Wow, I don't think I've ever gone that far between oil changes. The most has been 3k on the various sports cars I've owned.

On a non performance daily driver I could see that much time in-between changes. But on a performance car that see's high heat and high rpms pretty regularly while scootin about. I'd start getting paranoid about the oil starting to break down past 2500 "HARD" miles. High heat and high rpms are going to break an oils viscosity down much more quickly than a regular car I would think.
