I can't imagine the rubber center would exert that much force on outer shell to prevent an air chisel from pushing it out. ( hammering at different locations circumstantially and equally)

Just a thought.
This is where I'm starting to lean as well which is just grabbing a compressor and an air hammer. Hopefully haven't messed up the subframe too much but the collar is really rust welded in there. Hit it with some Liquid Wrench a second ago but I guess I'll follow with the torch.
