The actual useful part of the kit is a backing plate that ensures air blows within the rotor ring, so feeds more air through the vanes, vs just blowing on a face.
If anyone is running into issues with their tire hitting the hose, they can buy these pancake air ducts from Verus.
I used them to give me a bit more tire clearance:
