Unfortunately, it’s a known issue from what I’ve read here...

I had a 1990 Mustang GT ragtop that blew the hydraulic pump one day. Ford told me I was lucky that I had the “upgraded” model. They had lined the area the pump and roof sat in with vinyl so when it blew it was “contained”.

I junked it in 2012 with 40,000 miles on it when I couldn’t get the doors to close anymore due to the sag. Roof rattled like a a bucket of bolts. The wind and rain would blow through the 2 inch gap between the windshield and the roof.

Will never own another ragtop again...
