Default Exxon v Shell MPG

My local Shell station quit credit card transactions at the pump. I have a Shell card and they still require I pay inside due to drive offs. Since I always fill the tank, there is no way to pay in advance. I then went to an Exxon station and filled up as usual.

My mileage has averaged around 19 MPG or so since I bought the car new. I am retired, but this is my daily driver. I don't drive a lot, but I do try to get the oil temp over 180 degrees every time I drive. I just filled up again at Exxon. My mileage for this tank was 16.5 MPG. That is lower than it has ever been.

Up until this time I have never put in any gas but Shell premium. Any ideas why my mileage would drop so drastically with Exon?
