Came across this video today and I figured I’d share it because it a good video for training. IMO

Great example of an Accidental Discharge, how to handle it and why pointing your gun in a safe direction is very important while loading.

For the less educated among us, unlike Negligent Discharges which are caused by the shooter an Accidental Discharge usually happens due to an equipment malfunction and are rare. The shooter in the video was using a heavily modded CZ for competition shooting. The sear didn’t engage fully and the hammer followed the slide and since the firing block pin safety was disabled the pistol discharged.

I have to give props to the range officer for reacting positively to the situation, immediately using it as a training moment and praising the shooter for handing it well.
