Oh so true!!!
What color is your Z?
Metalics are a bit harder to mach the color. Solids are easier. I had a classic restoration body shop years back, so I'm familier. That's why I wish my Z was a solid black not with metalic. Solid black just "jumps" more too. Metalic Black seems to look like it's got a layer of fine dust on it IMO
Dealer will probably just outsource it as they don't do paint jobs usually.
Best to find a good shop on your own, check examples of their work before hand. Don't use a cheapo shop!!!! Overspray and compounding dust can get into all sorts of places, and will take a major detail job to clean. PITA I know it happened to me with my Porsche. Engine compartment got trashed with dust and crap! Still NEVER has looked the same.
2 stage enamels with the hardener additive allows them to be able to wet sand and buff like the old laquer paints. Then, dust, orange peel is not that much of an issue.
Good luck, and sorry to hear of your mishap.
Hope this helps.
