After seeing a suggestion from
Tractionless on another thread, I recently found a used M35 knob and trim ring on eBay that just arrived today. The leather has some miles on it and needs a little TLC, but it feels great in my hand! Keep in mind that I also installed a manual shift boot from a 6spd Z, so in that application it looks great! As far as I can tell, the M35/M45 knobs are the same, and installation is quite literally a snap.
Edit: This knob is from a 3rd Gen M. The trim ring is only applicable if you are using a shift boot, but one can probably get creative and make it work without.
