She did ok with mine, but kissed that goodbye when she forgot to switch to neutral and let clutch out while in a parking spot....car rolled fwd....first scar to the car shortly after we bought it. front bumper and that stupid lip slightly damaged...just enough to be an eye sore....

You can 100% leave the manual shifter in the car. Maybe weld the ball on the bottom of the lever to the chassis, and tell her its just really hard to shift.
