It naturally changes slowly over thousands and thousands of years. It doesn't rapidly change in one hundred years on it's own. Rapid change is always from outside forces. Large meteors or burning trillions of tons of fossil fuel in a short time are some of the things that make a rapid change happen.
Humans are a disease to the planet. Covid was it's immune system fighting back.
