I've taken some pictures. I'll post them up when I'm done.
1st. Prep your ground. I use a rotor tiller to soften it up. Makes it easier to shovel. You have to go down about 4" or so.
2nd. Put your base stone down and use a tamper to pack it. It should be about 2" thick.
3rd. Put your sand down. About 1 " thick. This may very depending on any low spots in your base. Tamp it down.
4. Start with your first square. I use a small level to level it. You may have to put sand under it, or remove sand to get it to level. Butt the next square up against your first square. Put the level across it and the other square to get your height just right. Then level the square.
I use 3 different levels when I'm doing this. A small level. A 2ft level. And a 4ft level. I also use a rubber mallet to tap on the squares to help to get them level.
