The hood vented very well and has functional rain gutters, at least in with the carbon fiber hood. The hood is uninsulated and is just slightly heavier than OEM but not enough to matter. I am a fan of CF and the way it works with brilliant silver and I had a CF wing that helped balance the color out. If you are not worried about weight and want to paint it then go for the other. I kind of miss having a black hood lol.
