Also is anyone else wondering why they aren't releasing ANY new info on the new Z since the Proto reveal? I've heard multiple car media sites say the car is expected Spring/Summer of this year. I know COVID delays and such but not even a test mule has been spotted anywhere. Perhaps they're having issues with the car in some capacity? At this rate I don't think we'll see it hit production until 2022.
The Z Proto is a complete product, finished in actual manufactured, ready for prime time components. It is not some hand built static display with a balsa wood interior. I am 100% sure Nissan could (and might be) producing it's major parts today. It even has the standard Nissan/Infiniti key-fob dock on the dash. They would NOT bother with details like that if the car was just a tease.

My opinion about the delay is that Nissan may be behind the ball on the automatic transmission. Notice we have a fully functioning 6MT proto, but not an automatic proto?
Are they considering DCT? ZF? For the love of puppies will they not torture us with the 7AT? Are they trying to develop some appropriate shift programming for their 9AT to match the car? They did a heavy makeover on the Armada, and despite the Frontier and Titan (with exact same engine as Armada) using the 9AT, the Armada received a ton of revisions and is stuck with the 7AT. Nissan even admitted that the 9AT may come NEXT year.

Also, CCP Virus is still disrupting the industry, and Nissan is trying very hard to get bread-n-butter stuff released ASAP to recover from the recent scandal. My opinion is they are doing their best.

They DO need to release it sooner than later, Beijing Biden is on a disruptive tear right now and we don't want to get surprised by some asinine executive order that kills the car before it is released.
