Z notes of interest:
1. Started smelling a familiar oil/gas smell 15 hours in. Turns out both my catch cans leaked their contents out of the threads and o-ring between the receptacle of the nasty and the input/output/bronze filter top part. The CC setup is PCVs replaced with AN fittings, run to the cans, and then vented to atmo via filters installed in the wheel wells. Perhaps the atmo filters clogged up? The cans were tight but not so tight that the o-rings split.
2. The Coplerworx shifter vibration/rattle is driving me insane. It happens in 3rd and 4th gear after RPMs pass 3200 or so. I think I've isolated it to the reverse lockout cable. When I put tension on it the rattle stops. Release and it starts back up. Emailed Coolerworx ab how they plan on fixing that. Redondbro did you ever get that issue fixed with yours?
3. The Dewla DeZign air intake guide partially obscures the external temp sensor, causing it to lag badly. Several times my AIT was lower than ambient...
4. After ab 14 hours of driving interstate/western US routes (aka interstate but more go-fast) the MT in 1st and 2nd gear starts to sound like a dryer with a load of scrap iron in it. Sounds much louder than the usual chatter. MT oil was changed 2 months ago. No slippage with the clutch, 30k old and CMAK kit. Line is insulated. I get that MTs shouldn't have issues with overheating but I can't help but think heatsoak is causing this. HFCs and exhaust pipes are already wrapped down to the W brace, so maybe slap some heatsinks on it? Who knows!
5. No issues with overheat. AIT never went more than seven *F over ambient. Coolant temp stayed steady at 187. Oil never went above 190 and that was hauling azz up a mountain. As much as I hate to admit it, the Sh*tbon hood does a good job venting heat.
6. The F.I. resonated HFCs better get here soon bc the GF spent the whole ride in noise-canceling earbuds and some Hazard-Fraud earmuffs. Said something about not enjoying the sound of freedom...
That is all - for now. Hope everyone enjoyed Rusty's Labor Day Kokathon!
