The test was 6", schedule 80 pipe, with a double V groove, 1/16" gap, in the 6G position, using 309 stainless filler, with an inert gas inside the pipe. First 2 passes had to be with Tig, the rest was with stick. 309SS with a stick is a PITA in the overhead and vert positions. It wants to fall out of the puddle.

I could do the test in 4 to 5 hours. Some guys took 12 hours and still failed.
