That makes absolutely no sense. The virus can run its course in that amount of time, rendering the test completely pointless. If you have to quarantine for 14 days regardless, then there's no reason to test unless symptoms appear.
Here are the things the doc told me:
Wait at least 24 hours after potential exposure to test.
Wait at least 24 hours between testing.
Rapid tests appear to be less sensitive than the regular test, meaning more false negatives.
