Gerrit 370Z is on a distinguished road
Default I'm a 60 year old grandpa and I bought a 370Z!

I'm a 60 year old grandpa and I bought a 370Z! I know my age sounds terribly old since many 370Z YouTubers are in their twenties. But I've known about the Z car for 40 years. Never got one due to getting married, kids, driving minivans. My wife passed away in 2014 and that gave me an opportunity to buy a 370Z. My neighbor is 75 years old and he has a 2017 Porsche Turbo S, a very good sports car, but he drives it like a Prius. I see that many Corvette owners are about my age. Corvette and Porsche never appealed to me. For some reason the 370Z always did. I think the 370Z is by far the most beautiful modded car.

I had my 370Z car for three years now. Bought it used, a 2010 basic touring model with automatic transmission, ~70,000 miles. No oil consumption. Previous owner took out the steering wheel lock fuse. Being a basic touring auto with leather seats means that I have the slowest 370Z. But it is still very fast! When I leave work (at 11pm), starting from a stop light, there is a gentle 90 degree right hand turn to enter the freeway. From a standstill driving my van I can enter the freeway at 55mph, but driving my "slow" 370Z I enter the freeway at 80mph! Fun! CHP saw me do it once and pulled me over. Let me go with a warning. Old people privilege! When I drive in the mountains I have to limit my speed because don't know about other cars around the corner. It's like I can drive the 370Z faster than I can see. So plenty fast for me and I have no plans to upgrade. Except I did add a Sprint Booster, it really does make the car feel alive!

The previous owner modded the 370Z very nicely. Sway bar, BC coilovers, which are not rated well, but I had the suspension re-setup by Zcar Garage in San Jose and I'm very happy with the ride. Other mods are, one inch wheel spacers, Nvidia exhaust, blackened wheels and door handles, tinted windows. So the previous owner made the 370Z about the look, which I also love! Picture shows my red 370Z at Santana Row in San Jose. Looks really good! I'm pretending to belong there with the Ferrari and Lambo supercars. But that is not a bad thing because being in my beautiful red modded 370Z does make me feel really special, which is more important to me than being able to get to 60mph the fastest. And finally in my life I finally get to own and drive a great sports car. Very nice to be able to have that life experience.

Gerrit.
