I am amused by people thinking Nissan is really gonna release a low-volume, $35-50k sports car during an economic down turn when it is already bleeding money.
A money losing car during money losing times when you're on a money losing streak would be fantastic
I know this is not a Supra or Toyota thread but the story behind that car is relevant. Toyota, which is much more successful financially than Nissan, deemed it economically unfeasible to develop its own RWD drivetrain and platform to the point it needed to partner with BMW for most of the engineering and for basically all of the manufacturing.
It could not do the 86 by itself either, partnering with Subaru for R&D and production.
so . . . how is Nissan, looking to slash sales targets and production costs, gonna produce a new Z again?
Just sell me the VR30 carb legal swap kit. Only dev cost is emissions and some packaging ****, the engine and tranny already exist
****, a Z34 with a VR30 and a six speed would be more fun and cheaper than the fuckin supra anyways
