I purchased Chris' (Houston track guy) sport wheels a number of years back. They were wrapped with RE-11s with some track use but enough tread remaining for a few months on the street. One of them split on me 3 weeks later.

Nothing against the RE-11s. I just foresee a similar recurrence since the tires have a similar history. It is not a problem if something happens. Both times I was just buying the wheels and the RE-11 tread on them was just some bonus rubber for donuts as far as I was concerned
