The magnet rails collect a lot of metal dust. Grap a socket off of it. And you might get a metal burr stuck in your skin.
The clip rails sometimes won't hold a socket and it falls off.
I'll take a whole clip rail with me under the vehicle if I don't know what sizes I will be using.

I have a couple of the Snap-On trays, with the twist lock feature

Has a handle on both sides & couple extension/ratchet holders.
Couple rows of 3/8” & 1/2” and 1 row for 1/4” ... bought the second one so I could remove endcap & swap some clip sizes, you can load the tray with shallow or deep sockets & hold it sidewayz and nothing will fall off
