Can we talk about how Toyota is actually putting money into developing, producing and selling this:
https://www.motor1.com/features/3890...totype-review/
They had to cram an AWD system, convert from 4dr to 2dr, slap on widebody, and drop in a turbo 1.3L 3cyl with a manual transmission into a Yaris, just to compete in some Rally championship
How is this gonna turn a profit?
But Toyota had to make the "financial" decision to partner on the Supra/Z4
I get that Toyota is doing way better than Nissan these days but holy crap, i can't believe they're basically making their version of the 22b in 2020. It's the antithesis of automatic transmission, hybrid powertrain, crossover SUV crap that everyone's doing
id be all over this if they sold it in america
2600 lbs
250 hp
awd
turbo
6spd manual
widebody
blargh it is basically a first generation STi. Apparently they need to sell 25,000 of these to homologate it for racing. they should really let US buyers help with that, cost be damned
Meanwhile, Nissan is just trying to figure out whether to put their ex CEO in jail
