Easiest HID upgrade around a 5k color temp would be the Osram CBI and Philips ExtremeVision Gen 2. If you are ok with closer to stock 4300k color, Osram Nightbreaker Laser is also a great choice.

HID bulbs do deteriorate, and more so if they go through sudden on/off cycle (like flashing high beam quickly, auto on and off while going under highway overpass, etc), so it’s not uncommon for a 10 yr old bulb to be dimmer.
