I realize that, but because I had it backwards (Z logo on cars after 2009), I thought that the key I got with the car was not original and that there may have been some non-standard shenanigans going on that makes my car an ugly duckling. The locksmith I went to was very familiar with this process (with Nissan) and after we pulled the fobs apart, and pulled fob info from their go to sites - he was stumped which didn't give me hope that this would be a simple thing. Hopefully the new fob from the place he recommended (which specifically states it's for a 2009 370Z even though they all say they are compatible with 09-19) works properly.
