Yeah it is... I'm not sure I'd take a Z over this. Mazda has really stepped their game up. Their subpremium cars are near Lexus quality. Lets see what happens

I think Car and Driver tested the 1993 RX7 0-60 in 4.9 seconds and quarter mile in the high 13 seconds, impressive at that time period.
