Default Fuel pressure for LTFT (fast intentions stage 1)

So, I’ve been having issues with my car running lean for a while now, and I’ve checked everything I could think of until I got to fuel pressure. My install procedure for the FAST 500 fuel return system tells me to set the regulator to 44 psi while the engine is running. I know stock is around 54, so I bumped it up just to test it out and my LTFT went from +32 to +10. Should I try and bump it up again to adjust fuel trim? After I bumped it up the first time, the car ran smoother than it has in a long time.
