Pretty much all rotors are made from iron, and will fade and eventually rust to a greater or lesser degree. Plating helps but doesn't put it off for ever. You can get 50-100K miles out of your stock rotors if your not racing.

Some racing rotors are made from stainless steel but no street rotors are.
