Honestly I like the new Maxima design interior and exterior. However I cannot personally support Nissan at this stage. Their CVT's are not that great and the intitial quality of their cars have dipped since their flirtatious endeavour with Renault. If they can go back to what they use to be I will have no qualms about purchasing a Nissan in the future as a family car.

Regardless, congratulations on your purchase, I hope it lasts you a life time and gives you only the everyday issues like brake changes, fluid changes etc. As for that CVT fluid, make sure you're anal about draining it a refilling it. I would honestly do a drain and refill with those things every 40,000 miles, sounds over kill but trust me, it will pay dividends.

You could look into Amsoils CVT fluid, it's good stuff and cheaper than the OEM fluid quart of quart. Regardless I would appreciate it if you could keep us updated on how this car treats you.
