A couple months ago I put a Kenwood headunit into my 2013 Touring non-nav Z. I have the ASWC-1 and the radio controls on the steering wheel all work. I also bought the AX-NIS32BT bypass harness but am still unable to get the phone buttons on the wheel to work. Crutchfield sent me a second one because the first one doesn't work. I think they're wired upside down, can anyone chime in?
Their instructions are showing the harness in the Z from the pin side. So the Axxess bypass harness I have, I assume that little bridge thing spanning from pins 14 to 20 in the diagram, is that rail on the top, and the harness on the left is oriented correctly based on that. But the wires don't line up as indicated. However, if I turn the harness over, like on the right, the wires do line up as specified. Is it possible that they wired these upside down?
When I connect them, I lose all steering controls, same as if I had disconnected the Bluetooth from the module in the Z entirely.
I'm okay with rewiring the harness, but I'm not sure how to get the wires out. I think I need a tool to put into the openings above the pins. The openings are tiny and I've tried very small screwdrivers and other things but can't pop the wires out. I really don't want to cut into the harness in the Z and try to solder in bypass wires.
Thanks for any input.
