Pretty much everything outlined in black is recommended.
Talimena National Scenic Byway is somewhat southwest of Mark Twain NF, it's Arkansas 88 and Oklahoma 1. That is HIGHLY recommended. Runs along the ridge of the highest continental land mass between the Appalachians and the Rockies. I've driven it 4 or 5 times, lovely technical driving road. I'd recommend starting the road at dawn-ish; once you get into mid-morning hours you may be held up on the road by swarms of motorcycle-riding retirees.
