I have a set of R2C filters I purchase for the stock intake boxes (the stock size filters were released several years after I purchased the whole intake kit). Due to the stock plastic material, I think that is a better way to go for performance on a budget. I originally purchased my intakes for the black nickel finish, which is beautiful and really set off by some other finish accents I have in the engine bay.

However, I am now focusing on performance and moving to autoX and track driving. So I have a set of Takeda intakes ready to go on the car. Could be talked into selling the R2C, but again, I don't recommend it if performance and cooling are high priorities. If IATs aren't a big concern and you don't beat on it in the heat regularly and like to show it off, then they are pretty sharp looking IMO.
