Would like to add to Gomer’s and Spooler’s reply.

It’s around the same diameter as OEM base rear, but the thickness is reduced by almost half (I guess because the lack of ventilation vanes). That’s a whole lot of missing metal, therefore lower heat capacity. That’s why it is setup for events with short braking duration.

Can you do it? Sure, just like people driving with bald tires or negative 10 degrees of camber. But, I wouldn’t.

And if you ever get into an accident, and the product manufacturer specifically stated this not to be used on the street, and this thread shows you’ve been warned of the reduced heat capacity, you will lose a whole lot more than weight.
