I do the same but if I do it your way the windshield will be hazy. I read the directions a long time ago. I do 2 coats on the windshield and a single coat on all the other glass. After you are done and it has dried for 10 min. or so you are supposed to wipe it down with a damp paper towel and then dry. No streaks or haze this way.
