^^^This.
You say you don’t trust mechanics but I get the impression you don’t understand... They’re not really changing anything mechanically with a e-tune. Just programming your car to use what it has more efficiently.
You can get Z1, Specialty Z, or Admin Tuning to tune your car remotely.
Any one of them have tuned more VQ motors than you’ve ever seen in your life.
In all honesty, they’ve probably forgotten more about Z cars than you or I will ever even know.
I took my car to Admin tuning last week for a retune with ecutek and gained over 30hp and 30tq to the wheels on tune alone. I have 4 different maps I can choose from via the buttons on the steering wheel in 3 seconds. Also my throttle mapping is perfect, no need to switch from Mr. Rogers to Dominic Torreto via anything but your foot. If I’m easy on the gas she drive smooth and nice. If I give it the beans she sh*ts and gets. Not only that but now I get better mpg, I have flat foot shifting and launch control.
As I said before, whatever you’re happy with... but to me, the extra features, better mpg, and more hp/tq with a better power curve, and better throttle map than the sprint booster, is worth the extra $320 over the sprint booster.
No one is scolding you or saying you’re wrong, they’re just giving you the best options for your Z, for your wallet, and for your enjoyment.
