Oh, and don't take the die cast model car collecting hobby to lightly. There are collectors clubs, magazines, conventions you name it. My dad has a collection of about model 800 cars, mostly 1/43 scale. A lot of them are hand build specials. You'd be shocked to see the prices some of these model cars go for at swap meets/conventions. I have about 100 model cars myself, mostly 1/43 scale Ferrari's. I was a big Ferrari fan as a kid, but I stopped collecting them when I was about 15 years old so they're all sitting in a box in the basement now...
And now I'm older I can't afford a real Ferrari, so I ended up buying a Z  Ah well, it's faster then the 308 GTB I wanted as a kid, so I can't complain too much
