The stock CSC WILL fail. It's just a poor design so expect it to fail even if you're not beating on the car. Best option is once it fails to replace it with the ZSpeed CMAK kit in order to convert it to an external slave cylinder.
And yes if you already have the trans out for a clutch job, you'd probably want to replace the CSC.
