I said, then why not get a Camaro? It's a cool car. The engine is the heart of the car. The Z is a sports car, not a drag racer. I also have a 68' Barracuda, 360, and see LS's in everything, some even GM. Would we put a Ford 351 Cleveland in a Camaro? A 429 in a Chevelle? A Mopar 440 in a Corvette? No! The Z guy insisted the LS was cheaper. I said he had no soul. If I bought a Porsche 911, guess what engine I'd want under the hood? As a teacher I heard the "drop in the LS" thing from high school students all the time... their lazy default. It's like rooting for the Yankees but you don't live in or near, and have never been there. It's okay, but it takes no imagination and is about as original as discovering we breath air. I had to school a lot of young people almost all who could not fathom why on earth anyone would Drive a Z. Don't you want a Ford or Chevy truck, Mr. s, they would intone. Oh brother.
