Nismo Gauge Cluster Swap. Who has done it?
Hello all,
I am swapping my 2010 base gauge cluster for a 2016 Nismo Cluster. I already have the Nismo cluster.
I read on this forum multiple times that it was possible to reprogram the mileage that is stored in the cluster by going to a dealer. But I called my local dealer and they said “oh we have some external company do it let me find out what they will do?” “Oh actually they won’t do it we can’t help you”.
So now I want to hear from someone who has successfully done it. Did you go through your dealership? Did you call some other company direct? I want details because I think that I’ve either been a victim of oversimplification or people assuming and no one has actually done it.
Also does anyone know if there are CAN changes between a 2010 and 2016 gauge cluster? It seems like there should have been some updates to the communication in this case?
I want to stress that I understand that since I have a base, I don’t have the TCU and therefor I cannot have the gear indicator. All I want is the mileage to be correct. (It wouldn’t be nice to change my Z from 91k to 9k haha)
