Locally, Tein has a great reputation, everybody are getting them, I wouldn't say they are bad, they are good for what they are, I tried a brz with flex Z and it was much better than stock, but I could attribute it to the soft stock suspension (which is good with stock tires, but when you jump to high grip tires, you start feel they are not up to the task). The Z on the other hand, has a very well engineered suspension and good with grippy tires if you have front negative camber.

But as I said in my first response, Valving is more important than spring rates, and for that, you need a reputable custom coilovers shop. Personally, I went with MCA suspension, an Australian company, they have a big reputation there, I am very amazed with the quality and how they ride in street, although I feel the rear is softer than what I would like in track (but their customer service is good and we are talking to see what we can change in the setup), but cannot complain in street, I was going to remove my AC to make it full fledged track car, but now I think it is very streetable and wouldn't go that route.
