A set 2.25” pipes merging to a single 2.5” pipe isn’t a restriction? So 2 pipes with a 4” cross section each for a total of 8” of cross sectional flow merged to a single 2.5” pipe with a 5” cross sectional flow... what do you call that missing 3” of cross sectional flow? How about the 2 90* bends leading up to it?

Simple math points out to it being an issue. Compare it to a true 3” dual exhaust:

2 tubes with a cross section of 7” each for a combined 14” cross section compared to single 5”cross section... hmmm I wonder which would be more free flowing?
