While I was on active duty, I normally slept under the 5 ton holding the shelter, with a 400 Hz generator about 10' away. I'd wake up when the generator shut off.
While I can go to sleep almost anywhere, the least little noise will wake me up and I'll have to check the house before I go back to sleep. Hotels drive me nuts, I ask for a room on the highest floor, the farthest from the elevator.
